Job description

Summary

Athletic Program Attendant, under the direction of the Program Coordinator and Recreation Specialist, involves leading recreational programs, ensuring cleanliness of equipment and facilities, supervising participants, and performing other related tasks. Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and compliance with safety guidelines are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with athletic leagues, programs, athletic rental facilities, and special events
  • Sets up/tear down athletic equipment for fields/gym to include but not be limited to volleyball nets, soccer field flags, football markers, drop down temporary basketball goals, pickleball courts, etc.
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of program participants
  • Keeps score as needed for basketball, softball, kickball, volleyball, and other sports
  • Referees games such as basketball or volleyball 
  • Performs general cleaning of equipment and facility
  • Performs daily office tasks such as filing, sorting, answering phones
  • Maintains essential records and prepares reports as required; to include but not limited to participation reports, usage reports, accident reports, and work orders
  • Opens and closes athletic fields and gym facilities during pre-dawn and after dark evening hours on weekdays/weekends
  • Enforces park rules at athletic field/gym facilities
  • Maintains inventory control of equipment at athletic fields and rental facilities
  • Assists with preparation of special events to include the set-up, staging, and clean-up
  • Serves meals and snacks to program participants as needed
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of 2 (two) years of high school

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience in a related field
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Certifications and Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license
  • CPR and First aid or able to attain within 90 days
  • Food handler license or able to attain within 90 days
