Athletic Trainer
Mauston, WIย |ย Permanent | Full-Time (PRN option available)ย |ย Normal Urgency

Working Hours:

  • Full-Time:ย 80 hours per pay period, Mondayโ€“Friday with evening event coverage

  • PRN:ย As needed
    Weekend/Holiday Coverage:ย Occasional event coverage

Position Summary
Join our Health Sciences / Sports Medicine team as an Athletic Trainer in Mauston, WI. Provide essential medical coverage for high school athletic events, manage injuries, and support occupational health services in this permanent full-time role (PRN available).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical coverage for athletic events and after-school activities at a contracted high school

  • Prevent, evaluate, and manage athletic injuries, including rehabilitation planning

  • Perform concussion assessments, management, and return-to-play coordination

  • Communicate findings and care plans with athletes, parents, and coaches

  • Document evaluations, treatments, and progress accurately

  • Analyze injury trends to support injury prevention strategies

  • Provide occupational health services, including POETs, desk assessments, and functional progress notes

  • Conduct post-offer employment testing and job-specific conditioning programs

  • Coordinate schedules for athletic event coverage

  • Support orthopedic clinic operations as a physician extender (patient histories, surgery scheduling, education)

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology

  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience

  • Active Wisconsin Athletic Trainer license

  • Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers certification

  • Current BLS certification

  • Valid driverโ€™s license

  • Strong attention to detail and clinical documentation skills

  • Ability to perform musculoskeletal and concussion evaluations

  • Knowledge of emergency care and occupational health practices

  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency
