Aerial Cable Installer - Fiber & Coax

Location: Gadsden, AL

Pay Range: $25-$43/hr (based on experience & skills assessment)


United Trades of America is seeking an experienced Aerial Cable Installer to join our growing team. This position requires a strong background in aerial coaxial and fiber optic installations, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely at heights. Job Responsibilities
  • Install coaxial and fiber optic cable aerially from pole to pole

  • Lash cabling to guy wire and strap securely to utility poles using proper hardware

  • Perform pole transfers (moving cabling from old poles to new ones)

  • Read and follow engineered prints for overhead fiber layout and routing

  • Operate a bucket truck at working heights up to 30 feet

  • Work safely and efficiently in various outdoor environments

  • Meet at the Gadsden, AL shop daily; commute to job sites in company vehicle


Requirements
  • Minimum 6 years of verifiable aerial cable installation experience (10+ preferred)

  • Must provide your own basic aerial tools

  • Ability to pass a hands-on practical test (covering components, hardware, bucket truck use)

  • Clean driving record (required to be eligible for company-sponsored CDL, if needed)

  • Must pass drug screening and background check


Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of aerial installation experience with solid references

  • CDL license (preferred but not required)


Compensation
  • Hourly rate $25-$43, determined by experience and knowledge assessment

  • Paid weekly
