General Summary: Under the supervision of the Reintegration Program Sr. Case Manager, the Youth Advocate will advocate and provide services to at risk youth and youthful offenders.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in outreach efforts to promote program goals and activities. Create and facilitate leadership, personal development and life skills
opportunities.
Research and update tribal, local, state and federal resources and
opportunities for youth. Assesses and evaluates cases and prepares and implements case
management plans. Advise program clients, assisting them to identify and resolve problems and
make effective use of resources.
Maintains working relationships with staff of other agencies and institutions and facilities and acts as liaison between clients and agency or institution.
Develops and maintains contact with other agency staff and local service providers to develop specialized services for reintegration participants and their immediate families.
Apply best practice standards to work with youth and families in the areas of positive youth development, leadership, advocacy, etc.
Encourages clients to do things for themselves to retain feelings of independenceand
Self- esteem.
Provides consultation to staff on specific cases involving program participants.
Prepares and maintains written case records, reports, and forms, performs case follow- up and closing, and performs other administrative tasks as required.
Must have ability to telework should unforeseen event require. Ability to identify at risk youth. Must perform any and all other duties as assigned. Work with area school personnel to provide services to students.

Minimum Requirements: Associate' s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
