Understanding of basic network and troubleshooting

Basic administration of Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 and Netezza

Basic use of SQL, interpret SQL, and run traces against both native and ODBC connections

Understand Cognos/Microstrategy/SAS logging. Be able to interpret errors

Aware of operating systems and memory settings, path, libraries load

Aware of WebSphere and how to configure and troubleshoot

Aware of shell scripting and batch scripting

Aware of JAVA, JNI and java scripting. Basic understanding of JNI memory settings

Aware of load balancing of distributed Cognos architecture

How to install a report tool suite

Able to write a basic report using any of the reporting tools mentioned (Cognos/Microstrategy/SAS/QlikView/Crystal Reports)

Able to build an schema model from scratch or at least understand the theory on data marts, data warehouses and star schema's and how this will affect the model

Able to understand HTML, and Java script

Able to understand the difference between Authentication and Authorization, Inheritance, and encapsulation

Able to understand and implement security within the reporting tool using capabilities and role memberships

Able to understand and implement single sign on

Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment, engaging with teams in an onsite/offshore model.

Analytical skills

Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.

At least 4 years of experience in Development using a reporting tool

At least 4 years of experience in Platform Support

At least 4 years of experience in Project life cycle activities on DW/BI development and maintenance projects

At least 4 years of experience in Environment Support.
