Job description

Position Overview

Home and Community Mental Care, Inc. is seeking dedicated Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT) to join our team in providing high-quality mental health services to children and their families. This is a full-time position that offers the flexibility of remote work, allowing professionals to make a significant impact while maintaining a work-life balance.

About the Organization

At Home and Community Mental Care, Inc., we are committed to offering comprehensive mental health services tailored specifically for children and adolescents facing developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our mission is to empower families by providing them with the necessary tools and support they need to thrive. We believe in a community-centered approach to mental health, working collaboratively with caregivers and specialists to create a nurturing environment for young individuals.

Work Environment

This role provides the unique opportunity to deliver therapy remotely while having the support of a vibrant community health clinic. Our therapists work in a collegial atmosphere where ongoing training and peer collaboration are encouraged. The flexibility of the remote setting allows you to manage your schedule while actively contributing to your clients' growth and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting individual in-home therapy sessions and group therapies at our outpatient clinic, ensuring a client-centered approach in all interventions.
  • Utilizing evidence-based practices to address high-risk behaviors in clients, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical violence, through targeted interventions like anger management, coping strategies, and social skills training.
  • Supporting caregivers to enhance decision-making capabilities that positively impact in-home behavioral issues.
  • Collaborating with the Child Family Treatment Team, including other mental health professionals, to design comprehensive care plans tailored to each child's needs.
  • Documenting all relevant client interactions and progress through timely submission of intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to established protocols.
  • Participating in regular team meetings to discuss client progress and contribute insights for improved therapeutic outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role focuses on providing therapeutic support to children aged 3-20 with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our aim is to create a safe and inclusive environment where children can express themselves and develop essential life skills. By implementing individualized treatment plans, our therapists work to foster resilience and empowerment in both clients and their families.

Qualifications
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license.
  • A Master's degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with a willingness to accommodate weekend sessions as needed.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and access to reliable transportation for in-home visits.
  • A clear criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing positive behavior support strategies tailored to children with behavioral challenges.
  • Prior experience working with children who have developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include competitive pay, group health coverage, annual paid time off, short- and long-term disability insurance, and a 401K retirement plan.

Career Growth Opportunities

At Home and Community Mental Care, Inc., we prioritize the professional development of our staff. We offer ongoing job training that not only enhances your skills but also prepares you for advanced roles within the organization. We are committed to fostering a culture of learning and support, ensuring that you continually evolve as a mental health professional.

Why Join Our Team

Joining our team means becoming a part of an organization that values its employees and the impact they make. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of children, applying your skills to make a tangible difference in their lives. In addition to our supportive work culture, we offer a sign-on bonus to new hires, reflecting our commitment to attracting exceptional talent.
