Job description

Build what keeps critical facilities cool

Picture your first week at SPX Cooling Technologies: you arrive to a clean, safety-first production floor where teams are assembling components that support hospitals, data centers, and power plants. You learn to read controlled documents, position parts, and bring together metal components that become reliable HVAC cooling equipment trusted under the Marley, Recold, and SGS brands.

What your day looks like
  • Interpret simple work instructions and unit diagrams to position parts accurately.
  • Use drills, hand and air impact wrenches, and hand tools to fasten parts with bolts, screws, and other hardware.
  • Assemble subcomponents into completed units that meet quality standards and pass final inspection.
  • Pitch in on additional assembly tasks and housekeeping to keep our workspace efficient and safe.
Who you are
  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months of related experience/training; or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Comfort reading and following straightforward instructions; able to write short notes and communicate clearly one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Physical and environmental realities of the role
  • On your feet for most of the shift—standing, walking, reaching, and handling parts and tools.
  • Occasional climbing/balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; regular lifting or moving up to 25 lbs.; close vision tasks.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional fumes/airborne particles; earplugs are required. Safety and good housekeeping are non‑negotiable.
Shifts that fit different lifestyles
  • Week Shift: 6:00am–4:30pm, Monday–Thursday
  • Weekend Shift: 6:00am–6:30pm, Friday–Sunday — work 36 hours, paid for 40 (any time over 36 is overtime)

  • Competitive health plans and 401(k) match starting on your first day
  • Performance-based compensation and bonus opportunities
  • Educational assistance, leadership development, and recognition programs
