Job Purpose

A Picker/Packer properly selects pre-determined material based on a production order; identifies the appropriate material required to be used for packing in accordance with customer specifications; completes packaging and prepares product for shipping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Safely identifies, locates, and pulls product based on daily production orders
  • Maintains customer-specific packaging specifications for each order
  • Facilitates a streamlined work space by keeping products and materials separated, organized, and properly rotated based on manufacturing date
  • Continually monitors the condition and quality of finished products and raw materials
  • Maintains required training and credentials to safely and effectively operate various pieces of material handling equipment including a forklift, banding equipment, pneumatic manipulator, pallet jack and others
  • Utilizes a 5S and Lean approach to continuously improve day-to-day operational duties while identifying opportunities to improve processes
  • Keeps a clean, sanitary, organized, and safe work area that is free from debris and other hazards
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED from an accredited institution and at least 1-year experience in an administrative support role and or shipping receiving position at a manufacturing facility or distribution center
  • Ability to use computer systems including Hand Held RF Scanners and desk top computers
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in local language, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to do mathematical functions, including add, subtract, multiply, divide, interpret Pareto Charts, Bar graphs, Flow charts, and other quality tools

General Job Requirements: This position will work primarily in a Warehouse environment with the constant use of material handling equipment Physical demands include repetitive movements such as entering and exiting a forklift, using material handling equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted This position requires you to operate material handling equipment which includes a forklift; all applicants must be in possession of an operator's certificate or have the ability to obtain a forklift operator's certificate within 30 days of hire. EnerSys will provide the necessary testing and assessments required for an operator's certificate.

This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
