What is an At Home Advisor?

An At Home Advisor is a customer service professional who works remotely, typically from their own home, to assist customers with technical support, billing inquiries, and product information. These roles are often offered by companies in the technology or service sectors, such as Apple. At Home Advisors use online communication tools, phone calls, and chat systems to interact with customers and resolve issues. The position requires strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to work independently. It is ideal for those seeking a flexible work environment while delivering high-quality customer support.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an At Home Advisor?

To thrive as an At Home Advisor, you need excellent customer service skills, problem-solving abilities, and usually a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with CRM systems, remote communication tools, and sometimes Apple products or certifications are often required. Strong communication, patience, and self-motivation help you provide support and build rapport with customers remotely. These skills ensure effective resolution of customer issues and contribute to a positive brand experience from a home-based environment.

How does an At Home Advisor typically collaborate with team members while working remotely?

At Home Advisors regularly collaborate with their team through virtual meetings, chat platforms, and shared documentation tools. While the role is remote, team leaders often schedule daily or weekly check-ins to discuss updates, share insights, and address challenges. Advisors may also participate in group training sessions and peer support forums to stay aligned with company policies and best practices. This structured communication ensures that even while working independently, At Home Advisors feel connected and supported by their team.

Job description

About Zero Homes
Our mission is to rebuild American communities through healthy, affordable homes.
At Zero Homes, we operate on a simple premise: when you make contractors successful, homeowners win. The current home services industry is fragmented, complex, and opaque, which is frustrating for homeowners and exhausting for contractors. We are changing this by building a home upgrade marketplace that enables a simple, central, transparent process for homeowners and contractors to complete projects.
Through our platform we handle design, quoting, procurement, and customer service, allowing our contractor network to focus on what they do best and make them money: delivering projects. For homeowners, this delivers a predictable, high-quality, and transparent experience-transforming home upgrades from a source of anxiety into a seamless experience. Our vision is to create a world where homeowners and contractors in all 50 states can leverage our platform to execute thousands of projects every week within the next 36 months.
We work by a clear set of values:
  • Be a "can kid," not a "can't kid": We own our outcomes and go to extraordinary lengths to solve problems.
  • Go fast, be clear: Speed is our advantage, and we sweat the details to deliver an extraordinary customer experience.
  • Customer & Contractor Obsessed: We have a deep, personal understanding of the work to be done. We stay curious about our contractors' craft and the stories of our homeowners.
  • Win, as a team: We are building an iconic business that will reinvent the industry, and will do so together.

If you are ready to build a world-class consumer experience that genuinely rebuilds American communities, come build with us.
About the Role & Your Impact
You will be leading the charge with our customers, helping them electrify their homes from first engagement through the digital (remote) home energy assessment process. You're a strong communicator with a high attention to detail who feels confident interacting with a variety of people. You have consultative sales or customer success experience dealing directly with customers, and you are comfortable working with technical products (e.g. software, mobile apps, etc.). You're also a fast learner, comfortable operating in ambiguity, and able to juggle multiple tasks at once. We are looking for go-getters who hold themselves to a high standard of excellence - especially when it comes to creating happy customer experiences.
You will be joining a dynamic, small team that has great ambitions for scale, and we're looking for similarly ambitious, talented people to join our fast growing team!
What You Bring
  • You're passionate about electrifying homes and working with homeowners to understand their needs and help them purchase electric heating and cooling systems.
  • 3+ years of sales experience working directly with customers, in either a consultative sales, customer success, or home comfort advisor type role.
  • You are a perpetual learner and excited to explore the nitty-gritty details of building science and HVAC design.
  • You are comfortable and confident operation using software tools to manage you workload and interact with customers (e.g. Hubspot, Zoom, phone call apps, etc.).
  • You are self-motivated, ambitious, growth-minded, and have demonstrated ability to succeed on a fast moving team.
  • High attention to detail, curiosity, and willingness to research unique solutions for customers

Nice to Have
  • Building Science, BPI-Analyst/Professional, HVAC sales experience
  • Ability to speak Spanish or other languages to support customers or partners whose native language is not English

$100,000 - $350,000 a year
This candidate lives within 50 miles of Denver, CO (or is willing to relocate with assistance). In addition to base compensation, this role also includes meaningful equity compensation so successful candidates can participate in our company's accelerating growth.
- Equity
- Medical and Vision
- 4 Weeks PTO + unlimited sick days
- Primarily in-office with WFH days
- Workstation stipend
Zero Homes is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible experience for all candidates. We encourage you to apply even if you believe that you do not meet all of the above criteria!
