How much do asynchronous telehealth jobs pay per hour?

As of Aug 15, 2026, the average hourly pay for asynchronous telehealth in the United States is $15.65, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $13.94 and $17.31 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is an asynchronous telehealth?

An Asynchronous Telehealth job involves providing healthcare services remotely without real-time interaction. Clinicians review patient-submitted data, such as medical history, images, or recorded videos, and respond when convenient. This approach allows for more flexibility in diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care. It is commonly used for specialties like dermatology, radiology, and behavioral health.

What does a typical workday look like for someone in an asynchronous telehealth role?

A typical day in Asynchronous Telehealth involves reviewing patient-submitted information, analyzing medical histories, and providing care recommendations through secure messaging or telehealth portals rather than live video visits. You may coordinate with physicians, nurses, or specialists to ensure comprehensive care, and your documentation is critically important for continuity and legal compliance. While the pace can vary based on patient volume, you have flexibility in managing your workflow, as responses do not require immediate real-time interaction. This structure is ideal for healthcare professionals who value autonomy, detail-oriented work, and making a meaningful impact from a remote environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the asynchronous telehealth position, and why are they important?

To excel in an Asynchronous Telehealth role, professionals typically need a healthcare background, clinical assessment skills, and proficiency in remote patient care. Familiarity with telehealth platforms, secure messaging systems, and compliance with HIPAA or other privacy regulations is often required. Strong written communication, attention to detail, and time management are key soft skills for success in this remote, documentation-heavy setting. These capabilities ensure accurate, timely patient evaluations and uphold the quality and confidentiality standards integral to remote healthcare delivery.

Job description

About AgelessRx
AgelessRx is a first-of-its-kind, longevity-focused telehealth platform with an e-commerce component. Our mission is to collectively give people millions of extra healthy years, so everyone can enjoy more of what they love in a world where people are empowered to live as long as they want. We believe aging should no longer be treated as a dreadful inevitability, but instead, as a puzzle that can be solved, a fight that can be fought - just as a disease with a cure. Through our free-to-use platform, we offer trusted, data-driven longevity solutions and scientifically backed prescription therapies to help safely lower the risk of age-related diseases.
About the role
AgelessRx's Telehealth Physician will be responsible for working as part of our medical team, providing prescriptive services. This is a flexible, remote 1099 contractor opportunity with compensation based on completed clinical tasks and consultations rather than hourly requirements. There is no minimum hourly commitment. Average monthly compensation is approximately $12,000, depending on licensure coverage, availability, and completed volume.
We are specifically seeking providers licensed in 13+ states, with strong preference given to candidates licensed in one or more of the priority states listed below.
What you'll do
Clinical Tasks
  • Participate in Synchronous and Asynchronous patient consultations. When suitable, formulate appropriate prescription plan(s) based on AgelessRx protocols, guidelines, and the Standard of Care, while maintaining independent medical judgment.
  • Participate in Synchronous and Asynchronous ongoing care with patients, including reviewing dosage change requests, responding to patient messages, and other care-related tasks, in accordance with AgelessRx protocols, guidelines, and the Standard of Care, while maintaining independent medical judgment.
  • Process patient requests related to prescriptions, periodic check-ins, and prescription renewals, as relevant, while maintaining independent medical judgment.

Administrative Tasks (performed as part of Clinical Tasks)
  • Maintain EMR records and perform other administrative duties as needed or requested.
  • Communicate with clinical staff as needed to support patient care and perform administrative tasks.
  • Assist with improvement to company processes and internal efficiency, as requested.

Non-Clinical Related Tasks
  • Undergo training as deemed necessary and needed for your role as a contract prescriber.
  • Participate in team and company meetings as requested
  • Collaboration meetings with supervising physicians (case reviews, protocol alignment, feedback)

Qualifications
  • At least 2-4 years of physician experience outside of residency
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school
  • Licensed to practice medicine in at least 4 of the required states, with the willingness to obtain additional licenses (CA, CT, FL, IL, KY, LA, MI, NJ, NC, OH, OK, PA, TX, VA, WV, WI).
  • Experience working in a telehealth environment
  • Technical proficiency with computers, telehealth platforms, and tool
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of and an interest in longevity is a plus
