Job description

Student HR Coordinator
The Student HR Coordinator is a member of a dynamic HR team supporting six nonprofits that are each focused on creating solutions and generating resources to extend the reach of Arizona State University (ASU) and advance its charter. This role will provide administrative support to the HR department, primarily focusing on onboarding activities, HRIS administration, and will support various HR projects as needed.
The position will require approximately 20-25 hours per week, with additional availability during school breaks.
What you'll do:
  • Assists the Talent Manager with recruitment activities such as job postings, application review, interview scheduling, and coordination
  • Secures the integrity and confidentiality of HR data by maintaining employee and organizational information, files, and records effectively
  • Assists the HR team with various administrative processes that occur within Workday
  • Supports New Employee Orientation (NEO) by processing new hire tasks assigned by the HR Representative and Talent Manager, including but not limited to processing new hires in Workday, completing I-9 verifications, and securing sun cards for new employees
  • Maintains inventory for new hire bag materials and orders additional supplies as needed
  • Responsible for sending out employee communications, providing administrative support, and ad-hoc reporting for the HR department as needed
  • Assist with Inclusive Excellence data analysis for internal reporting and dashboards
  • Support with the creation of Inclusive Excellence newsletters and other communications
  • Assist with all aspects of event planning for Employee Resource Groups and support ERGs where necessary
  • Participates in various HR projects and initiatives as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
What you'll need:
  • Basic knowledge of various Human Resources functions and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, reliability, adaptability, integrity, discipline, and productivity
  • Excellent customer relation skills, communication, and follow through
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion, judgement, tact, and poise
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to ASU Enterprise Partners, its subsidiaries, and University business and confidential prospect information
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to routinely interact and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization and relevant stakeholders
  • High organizational and prioritization skills with a clear sense of urgency and self-initiative
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing, and by phone
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to meet work schedule expectations and manage time effectively
  • Advanced computer skills and technical proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and similar systems
Relevant qualifications:
  • A current undergraduate or graduate student at Arizona State University pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Psychology or related field
  • Two (2) years of experience working in a customer service environment
  • The student must be willing to sign and abide by a confidentiality agreement
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Experience working within the Human Resources department
  • Experience with Workday
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with HR best practices
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
