Immediate Supervisor: This position reports directly to the Director of the Dr. Barbara C. Baxter Learning Success Center.
General Description: This is a part-time position that includes day and/or evening hours at the ASU Mid-South campus. The tutoring office is housed in the Dr. Barbara C. Baxter Learning Success Center, located in the Reynolds Center on the ASU Mid-South, south campus.
Responsibilities: Provide academic tutoring and educational assistance to students during the academic year and summer semester. Assist the Director of the LSC in tracking student information by completing weekly logs and administering post session surveys. Advise students utilizing our email based tutoring system in helping respond to incoming messages. Provide leadership for assigned groups of students during program activities; peer mentoring, first-year experience, SLA courses.
Qualifications: High school diploma with at least two years of post-secondary education preferred. Strong working knowledge of general computer and database usage. Must exhibit excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, while maintaining a professional appearance. Tutors must have been previously enrolled in the course selection that they are tutoring on and have received an A in that course. Student learning style knowledge preferred.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and credentials.
