Job Description:
Barrett, The Honors College at the Tempe campus is seeking an energetic, outgoing individual to work in a team environment that is committed to the recruitment of high-achieving students. This position will report to the Student Recruitment Coordinator for Barrett and will support recruiting initiatives and objectives related to the unique honors college experience. The typical schedule for this job is Monday - Friday 8a-5p, with some nights and weekends.
Essential Duties:
  • Give in-person and virtual presentations about the Barrett experience to prospective high school students, their families, and school counselors
  • Coordinate the creation of recruitment materials, including brochures, presentations, digital ads, email campaigns, and event collateral
  • Contribute to social media, video, and web content that supports student recruitment efforts
  • Travel to schools across Arizona to meet with prospective students and their counselors
  • Respond to a high volume of phone calls and emails from prospective Barrett students, their families, and school counselors
  • Support administrative needs such as data entry, updating databases and mass emails using common computer systems (Microsoft Office/Google sheets, etc)
  • Give occasional walking tours of the Barrett residential community
  • Coordinate on-campus visit experiences for prospective students
  • Collaborate with other ASU departments to support ASU and Barrett recruitment efforts
  • Participate in special projects with staff as directed

Desired Qualifications:
  • Evidence of a bachelor's degree
  • Evidence of professional public speaking and exceptional written communication skills
  • Experience in managing various projects, events, and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Experience collaborating with marketing, communications, or creative teams to develop materials, campaigns, or messaging
  • Experience with recruiting students or working with school-age children
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Barrett, The Honors College
  • Experience working in an institution of higher education (honors college/program experience preferred)
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential duties.

Working Environment:
  • Activities are primarily performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking. Some outdoor events occur throughout the year.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity associated with daily use of desktop computer; bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Hours: 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday (some nights and weekends required).

Salary: $44,000 per year
