Industrial Quality Assurance Manager

Allient Inc. is currently seeking an Industrial Quality Assurance Manager to join our team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin!

Lead quality across multiple manufacturing facilities and make a lasting impact. As our Industrial Quality Assurance Manager, you'll drive quality strategy, ensure compliance, and champion continuous improvement across our operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and direct the training and evaluate, for manufacturing, the work of inspectors and auditors assigned to in-process and final products inspection operations covering receiving, machining, welding, coil winding, coil finishing, assembly, testing, and shipping functions. Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering and Sales management and technical personnel in implementation of procedures required to assure that the integrity of company and customer standards and specifications are maintained.
  • Assure that the schedule of periodic calibration of inspection instrumentation, tools and gauges is met and prepare certifications. Host customer inspection audits and provide functional support to Sales and Purchasing on sales inquiries, orders, vendor evaluation, and source inspections.
  • Initiate material review reports for discrepant material and coordinate with operating Supervisors the disposition of potential discrepancies. Maintain a bonded area for discrepant parts and direct follow-up procedures. Collaborate with Design Engineers and the Test Engineer, as required, to assure that the product meets specifications. Provide documented, quantitative data that identifies quality problem areas with sufficient information required for disposition. Prepare and submit applicable reports and recommendations to the VP, General Manager, with appropriate distribution to other management personnel.
  • Provide for the accurate correlation and filing of a variety of test and inspection data required for the documentation of quality control procedures. Perform actual inspecting operations in accordance with workload requirements. Actively participate in various company programs such as quality assurance meetings, manufacturing and engineering meetings, executive staff meetings, etc.
  • Direct, assist and train subordinates. Respond to grievances at the primary level. Appraise work performance, conduct merit reviews, make recommendations on wage and salary administration, new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations. Collaborate with the VP, General Manager, Production Supervisor, HR Generalist, etc., on employee relations matters, safe practices and adherence to the Labor Agreement.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or associated with the responsibility.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Broad knowledge of quality assurance principles, manufacturing processes, inspection and testing methods, instrumentation, component materials, and quality systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • 7–8 years of progressively responsible experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Experience working directly with customers, auditors, inspectors, and cross-functional manufacturing teams.
  • Strong understanding of quality control and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze test and inspection data and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of engineering, production, and business information.
  • Proficiency in preparing reports, procedures, and quality documentation.
