Engineering Analytics and IP Development Manager – Power Systems Engineering Division

Are you a strategic, technically minded leader who thrives at the intersection of engineering, data, and innovation? Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking an Engineering Analytics and IP Development Manager to guide the development, architecture, and lifecycle of engineering analytics, automation tools, and intellectual property (IP) that strengthen our engineering capabilities and advance our technical competitiveness.

In this role, you will build a specialized team, establish governance frameworks, and drive high-impact initiatives that improve efficiency, enhance engineering workflows, and position the organization for future success.


What You’ll Do:Technical Leadership & Strategy
  • Define the technical architecture and long-term roadmap for analytics, automation tools, data workflows, and AI/ML development.
  • Lead and manage the division’s portfolio of engineering analytics and automation tools to support organizational goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across engineering systems and capabilities.
Governance & Lifecycle Management
  • Establish and enforce centralized governance for tools, scripts, datasets, and AI/ML models, ensuring strong lifecycle management, documentation, version control, and cyber-secure development practices.
  • Monitor adherence to governance standards, performing audits and escalating noncompliance as needed.
Intellectual Property Development
  • Own the technical IP lifecycle from concept through protection readiness.
  • Coordinate with engineering, IT, and Legal to ensure technical soundness, completeness, and defensibility.
  • Prioritize and evaluate IP and tool productization opportunities, providing recommendations and supporting customer-discovery activities.
Team Leadership
  • Build, develop, and mentor a specialized technical team focused on data science, analytics, automation, and AI/ML.
  • Manage performance, support employee development, and contribute to hiring, training, and cross-training.
Analytics, Automation & Workflow Optimization
  • Analyze engineering workflows and perform process mapping to identify opportunities for automation, data enhancement, analytics, and AI/ML deployment.
  • Champion solutions that increase efficiency, quality, and engineering decision-making capability.
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level reports on IP status, technical risks, emerging technologies, and development progress.
  • Define and track KPIs related to tool adoption, portfolio impact, efficiency, quality, commercial readiness, and IP progression.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with internal teams, customers, and vendors to support division goals and uphold MEPPI’s professional image.

What You Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in engineering analytics, software/tool development, or data/AI/ML initiatives.
  • Minimum 3 years of management or technical leadership experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with automation, scripting, analytics, or engineering tool development.
  • Experience defining or guiding technical architecture, development standards, and governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, data engineering workflows, and analytics methodologies used in engineering environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
