Job description

  1. Receives and stores food, paper supplies, cleaning supplies and equipment for department.
  2. Orders food and other supplies from designated vendors.
  3. Requisitions supplies from Hospital Receiving.
  4. Inventories food and other supplies.
  5. Maintains and organizes storage areas according to established guidelines.
  6. Transfers freezer stock to refrigerated areas following established guidelines.
  7. Stock patient, retail and non patient areas.
  8. Reports discrepancies and damaged goods that are received.
  9. Removes cardboard boxes from kitchen areas and crushes them in cardboard compactor.
  10. Performs other work related duties and activities as assigned or requested.

Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers in a manner that reflects Cape Cod Hospital's commitment to CARES: compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and service.

  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Minimum of 1 yr. recent (within previous 3 years) experience as a CCH Food Service Associate/worker or minimum of 1 yr. recent (within previous 3 years) experience with ordering, receiving and inventory in a food service setting.
  • Basic math skills as demonstrated by the successful completion of a timed math test.
  • Ability to identify various cuts of meat as demonstrated by successful passage of departmental test.
  • Ability to identify and judge quality of fresh produce upon receipt.
  • Minimum 6 months experience with computer applications such as Windows, the Internet and Meditech or similar.
  • Obtain and maintain ServSafe certification or equivalent, as determined by Management, within 6 months of hiring.
