Position Title: Associate Service and Installation Engineer
The Associate Service and Installation Engineer will support the installation and service of robots and robotic systems by providing technical assistance to customers and taking on responsibility for setup, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing of robots and peripheral devices.
The ideal candidate is a customer-focused, problem-solver with a "service first" mindset who has experience with robotics technology and is skilled in troubleshooting technical issues.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Install, startup and debug the system/unit being installed; support the installation through buyoff and customer acceptance.
- Provide timely updates back to the team including any incidental service issues that may arise during installation.
- Provide prompt, professional, and courteous solutions to customer problems.
- Troubleshoot problems and secure any needed parts as necessary.
- Repair, maintain, rework, or retrofit of product and equipment.
- Complete timely documentation and reports (Installation and Service reports, SVMs, Punch list, FSR's, MIR's, Expense, and Time Reports)
- Follow Engineering guidelines and other standardized procedures to comply with product specifications, laws and regulations.
- Travel to customer sites as required (~80%).
Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent technical education; or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience working in a related environment with robotics integration, installation, or service repairs.
- Experience with analyzing and solving service and robot installation problems.
- Familiar with electrical, electronic, computer science, pneumatic, hydraulics, PLC, and/or mechanical technology.
- A valid driver's license is required due to the travel required in this role.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist product development in testing new products.
- Assist Paint lab activities as needed.
- Support component rebuild and robot refurb or PM activities.
- Assist in process improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.

Physical & Mental Requirements:
- A large portion of time is spent at manufacturing sites: must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time, lift up to 50-70 lbs., and perform work on equipment in hard-to-access locations within an industrial facility.
- Paint environment is typically 2K and/or Solvent-based; must be able to work within potentially harsh industrial environments within OSHA guidelines.
- Ability to properly use hand tools (drill, punch, crimpers, torque wrench, etc.) and instrumentation (DVM, oscilloscope).
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to multi-task, learn new tasks, maintain focus, and complete tasks independently.
- Ability to work overtime when required to meet special/critical deadlines.
- Ability to travel to customer sites including overnight and on weekends as required for extended periods of time and on short notice.
