Job Overview

We're Hiring: Associate, UI Designer at Hubbell! Are you passionate about crafting web experiences that put users first? Hubbell's Enterprise Marketing team is looking for an Associate UI Designer to help shape the digital face of our brands - from sleek wireframes to polished, high-fidelity prototypes.

The Hubbell Enterprise Marketing (HEM) Associate UI Designer is responsible for creating web designs and experiences for Hubbell solutions and brands enterprise-wide. The Associate UI Designer will contribute to UX team activities from concept to production, collaborating with product departments. They are the constant champion of the user, employing innovative tools, techniques, and technologies to deliver best-in-class web designs across the enterprise.

For this role, we are open to hiring candidates in the following locations: Greenville, SC, Columbia, SC, Farmington, CT, St. Louis, MO

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Create user centric web designs, including sketches, wireframes, high fidelity mockups, and prototypes
  • Serve as a core designer on projects with an ability to execute successfully with support from team leadership
  • Audit existing web pages for both usability and functionality
  • Partner and participate on cross-functional teams to collaborate and execute strategies, projects, and processes
  • Participate in usability testing sessions with clients to ensure their voice is present in web designs
  • Apply usability principles and activities to all aspects web. Oversee their implementation with a high attention to detail
  • Communicate the user's needs and prioritize appropriately throughout development process and across all touchpoints
  • Work with UX leadership to understand and contribute on the experience strategy for projects
  • Articulate design decisions and present work to leadership and stakeholders
  • Collaborate on Hubbell design systems by documenting design patterns, layout choices, and asset repositories
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in User Experience, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or a related field or an equivalent in working experience
  • 3+ years of experience in design, marketing or creative services with a focus on web solutions
  • Ability to work with the Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with InVision, omigraffle, sketch or similar tools is preferred
  • Proven success in delivering projects in a large scale and in a complex business setting
  • Lean UX and Design Thinking experience preferred
  • Strong at gaining consensus across multiple departments and leadership levels
  • Stellar problem-solving skills, flexibility, and ability to effectively prioritize
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills with exemplary attention to detail
  • Effectively present deliverables and prototypes (wireframes, workflows, prototypes, etc.) to explain and negotiate design solutions to key stakeholders
  • The ability to work with little supervision in delivering high quality work and is capable of effectively collaborating with global, cross-functional teams as needed
  • Strong critical and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to influence cross function groups to a unified direction
  • Stays current on best design tools, processes, trends, and practices
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a result-driven environment
