You will be focused on translating business requirements into intuitive interfaces using components from our design system. This is a hands-on role responsible for user journeys, screen flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs.
This role is required to work in-office a minimum of 4 days a week to support teamwork and collaboration.
About Morgan Stanley

The Firm's employees serve clients worldwide including corporations, governments and individuals from more than 1,200 offices in 43 countries.
Morgan Stanley is committed to helping its employees build meaningful careers and we strive to be a place for people to learn, achieve and grow.
Department Overview
In the Wealth Management division, we help people, businesses and institutions build, preserve, and manage wealth so they can pursue their financial goals
Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of ten sub-teams including: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow, Digital Trading & Investing, Generative AI, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution, WM Platforms Risk, and the Chief Operating Office.
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management's User Experience (UX) team designs digital experiences that help clients understand their finances, monitor investments, and act with confidence across Morgan Stanley and E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley platforms. We design for two primary audiences: clients and Financial Advisors, who guide clients through important financial milestones
We are a growing team of designers and researchers who bring an entrepreneurial mindset to a leading global financial firm. We use design thinking and a user-centered approach to solve real customer and business problems-often in complex, highly regulated environments. If you enjoy bringing clarity to complexity, focusing on the details, and building experiences that fit seamlessly into a large product ecosystem, we'd like to meet you.
What you'll do in the role:
  • Partner with the UX lead and cross-functional teams to deliver experiences that balance user needs, business objectives, and platform constraints
  • Translate complex business rules, edge cases, and user scenarios into simple screen flows and intuitive interface designs
  • Create and iterate on design artifacts including journey maps, task flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes
  • Design within an established ecosystem by leveraging existing interaction patterns and design system components to maintain consistency across products
  • Work closely with our research team to identify user pain-points and ideate ways to improve the product experience
  • Deliver responsive/adaptive designs optimized for web and mobile, and collaborate with engineering to support accurate implementation (including specs and design QA)
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail-creating a strong visual hierarchy with typography and layout, as well as considering error handling and empty states
  • Advocate for inclusive design by aligning work to accessibility expectations (e.g., WCAG/ADA) and supporting usability for a wide range of user abilities
  • Use company-approved AI tools to concept, iterate and quickly prototype workflows
  • Ask thoughtful questions, seek feedback, and continuously grow design craft and product understanding
  • Articulate the rationale behind your design decisions
  • Champion design system thinking across multiple tabs and products over isolated page level interactions
  • Collaborate with UX designers on other teams to share ideas, provide feedback, align on common patterns

Skills Required:
  • You have an outstanding portfolio that demonstrates how you have created experiences that solved business and user needs
  • You've spent 2-5 years as a UX designer who was a key contributor to the success of products that have launched
  • You have a bachelor's degree in design or related field preferably, master's degree a plus
  • You have excellent skills in Figma
  • You thrive in a collaborative, explorative environment and you value being on a diverse team to brainstorm and get feedback from within a large organization
  • You practice active listening and contribute in-group situations, like brainstorms, audits, critiques, and whiteboard sessions
  • You get excited by complex projects and can navigate a path forward when there is ambiguity
  • You ask questions to clarify your understanding of the business rules, use cases and end users
