Technical Writer (Tempe, AZ - Local Only)

Summary
The Technical Writer creates, updates, and reviews documents related to the activities of transmission and generation operations. Documents may include operating practices, reference material, job aids, and other instructional guides. This individual may also assist with the technical writing required for special projects, as assigned.

What Youโ€™ll Do
Responsibilities will include:

ยท         Create new operating practices, update and review existing operating practices (Under supervision)

ยท         Work with leadership, Subject Matter Experts (SME), technical leads, and external entities to gather information needed for operating practices and real-time processes, as required.

ยท         Assist training department with creating and updating training job aids, reference documents, and presentations.

ยท         Assist with special projects, which may include writing for program documents and reports.

ยท         Participates in initiatives and implementation activities, committees, and discussions.

Education
Required: Completion of an Associate''s degree or 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.

Preferred: NERC Certification
Experience
Required: A minimum of three (3) yearsโ€™ experience in technical writing.
Preferred: Experience in writing operating practices for an electrical utility.

Must Demonstrate:
Good technical writing and communication skills
Ability to articulate complex technical information so that others can understand
Ability to read and interpret detailed technical documents
