Position Overview:

The Technical Project Coordinator supports end-to-end project execution by coordinating engineering, procurement, vendor activities, and resource planning to ensure high quality, on-schedule delivery. This role provides technical leadership, prepares key project and proposal documentation and partners closely with clients, finance, and engineering to drive successful project outcomes and continuous improvement.

Location:

On-site in Lynchburg, Virginia at the Advanced Technologies Office.

Your Day to Day as a Technical Project Coordinator:

  • Support Project Manager in the management, planning, scheduling and control of project work.
  • Coordinate, document, and manage work authorizations and procurement activities associated with projects and associated tools and materials.
  • Provide technical and organizational support for projects including documentation, specification review, coordination of design and procurement activities, and procedure preparations.
  • Interface with finance and engineering to support project activities.
  • Engage with potential vendors and provide technical oversight of vendor activities.
  • Lead design activities and manage deliverables.
  • Drive client satisfaction by working closely with the client's technical, administrative, and management team.
  • Coordinate engineering disciplines and vendor interfaces.
  • Manage project resources, technical changes and expedite scheduled activities.
  • Prepare engineering estimates based on customer RFQs and other technical documents.
  • Prepare technical write-ups to support proposal efforts.
  • Prepare technical specifications.
  • Participate actively in risk management and process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or physics is required. 
  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must have strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with others.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Scheduling Software (e.g. MS Office, Primavera, MS Project).
  • Travel (0-10%) domestic and international is required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and/or test experience.
  • Previous experience with Risk Management.
  • Previous experience with Agile Project Management.

Pay: $86,000.00 - $136,000.00

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $86,000.00 and $136,000.00 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
