Job description

Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Verification and Validation (V&V) Systems Engineer to support our work as the prime contractor for a high - visibility U.S. Navy weapon system program. The ideal candidate thrives in a multidisciplinary engineering environment, communicates effectively, and collaborates proactively across organizational boundaries. We are looking for an engaging, team - oriented problem - solver who can operate with initiative and adapt quickly within a dynamic program landscape. In this role, the V&V Engineer will work closely with multiple engineering teams supporting the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) office. This position bridges technical execution with emerging leadership responsibilities, including guiding junior engineers and contributing to customer - focused engineering activities. Responsibilities include: Engineering Technical Responsibilities * Contribute to the development and refinement of the Verification strategy and approach, ensuring alignment with system requirements and engineering best practices. * Conduct verification activities using system requirements, verification methods, and producing design compliance reports * Develop and maintain the Requirements Verification and Traceability Matrix (RVTM) * Perform data analysis and collaborate with teams to support verification and validation of system requirements * Conduct impact and traceability assessments and recommending corrective actions * Prepare technical documentation, presentations, data packages, and white papers * Participate in IPTs, working groups, and communities of practice * Attend customer staff meetings * Support execution of the Systems Engineering Verification process, including technical reviews Team Support Responsibilities * Take ownership of assigned subsystem - level verification tasks, ensuring timely, complete, and high - quality engineering outputs. * Foster collaboration within small project teams to maintain alignment across verification tasks and ensure cohesive execution. * Guide less experienced engineers in day - to - day verification activities, providing direction and feedback to strengthen their understanding of systems engineering and V&V practices. Customer Interaction Responsibilities * Participate in customer technical meetings and reviews, presenting assigned verification products and supporting discussions with technical counterparts. * Support customer execution of the Systems Engineering Verification process, including preparation and participation in formal Systems Engineering Technical Reviews. * Work with customer stakeholders to clarify requirements, understand objectives, and ensure assigned verification activities meet expectations. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with at least 2 years of experience; or a Doctorate in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse teams * Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools * Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills. * Up to 6 years of relevant work experience * Experience defining a verification process for a new program * Experience within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) environment * INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $97008 - $164914 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
