Position Profile:
The System Engineer will provide technical support for clients and team members with complex issues that require additional expertise. This position will report directly to the IT Help Desk Supervisor.
Requirements
  • Successfully prioritize service issues based on multiple competing objectives while multitasking
  • Effectively communicate with team members & customers with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with strong customer relationship skills
  • Advanced, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure Active Directory/Entra ID, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), Network Security Groups, and Azure VPN Gateway/ExpressRoute
  • Proven ability to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot hybrid cloud environments (on-prem to Azure), including Azure AD Connect/Entra Connect and hybrid identity management
  • Experience with Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and disaster recovery planning in cloud/hybrid environments
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune/Endpoint Manager for device and policy management
  • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire; additional certifications (AZ-500, AZ-305) a plus
  • Willingness and commitment to ongoing learning and self-development
  • Advanced knowledge of networking troubleshooting, including ISP Equipment, Firewalls, Switches, and Servers
  • Excellent knowledge of PCs, Servers, MFPs, Email, VLANs, Wired and Wireless Networking, Storage, and Backups
  • Strong experience with multiple OS, Virtual Servers, Backup Restoration, Network Troubleshooting, Server Configuration
  • Excellent experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting network and server infrastructures
  • Maintain high CSAT score and exceed customer expectations for SLAs (Service Level Agreement)
  • Good driving record, valid driver's license, and proof of insurance

Primary Responsibilities
  • Configure, install, and troubleshoot Azure cloud resources, servers, networks, and applications
  • Serve as third-level support for all users with the most complex problems, especially related to servers, networks, and Azure/cloud infrastructure
  • Use advanced troubleshooting techniques to resolve complex problems using available tools, including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and native Azure diagnostic tools
  • Monitor and respond to alerts for customer equipment and Azure environments prior to the customer becoming aware
  • Courteously obtain and convey concise problem information for internal service personnel
  • Solving problems in Windows & Mac platforms with equal proficiency
  • Proactively maintain servers, networks, and hybrid/cloud environments, including patching, backups, and security configurations
  • Support migration and integration projects moving on-prem infrastructure to Azure
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Standley Systems supported products and services
  • Assist with identifying available solutions to enhance and improve support delivered to customers
  • Review and update Help Desk documentation as assigned, including Azure/cloud environment documentation
