Job description

The Healthcare Superintendent position should hold ASHE certification or equivalent continuing education in healthcare construction. They should have a proven track record of successfully managing multiple healthcare projects and working in active healthcare environments. Strong command of infection control, interim life safety measures, and collaborative experience working with owners on regulatory compliance are essential.
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
This role has primary responsibility for all field activities associated with job site construction projects in a healthcare setting. The Healthcare Superintendent is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, to the highest level of quality, on time, within budget, and according to company policies and procedures. Provides on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects including trades and craft workers, subcontractors, material and equipment. The Superintendent directs the day-to-day activities including job site safety, quality control, inspections, and on the job training for foreman, journeyman, and apprentices. This is an hourly union position.

ยป Lead the Jobsite Safety Program by ensuring the proper planning, training, and enforcement for self-performed and subcontracted work is executed in a safe manner to create a safe work environment for all.
ยป Responsible for creating a culture that values safety, health and cleanliness.
Quality
ยป Lead the quality control program on site. Lead required inspections and requirements outlined by the Authority Having Jurisdiction, Project Documents, and Quality Control Program. Ensure all work conforms with the project drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.

Schedule, Sequence, and Logistics
ยป Assist with the creation of the project logistics plans, sequence plans, and schedules. Responsible for execution, follow up, and communication with subcontractors, project managers, and owners.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
ยป Associate Degree in Construction Management or similar field, or a Journeyman status in a building trade, or a combination of high school diploma with relevant experience and related certifications, AND,
ยป Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry on complex projects, AND,
ยป Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory experience, with healthcare experience.
ยป ASHE certification or equivalent continuing education in healthcare construction, preferred
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
ยป Knowledge of a wide range of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
ยป Understanding of the command of infection control, interim life safety measures, and collaborative experience working with owners on regulatory compliance are essential for healthcare jobs.
ยป Must be capable of reading and comprehending plans and specifications for institutional, commercial and industrial projects.
