Principal Associate, Brand Governance, Operations and Enablement

This is an opportunity for an experienced marketing operations or project management professional to join Capital One's Brand Governance Team. In this role, you will drive the process for brand governance initiatives, removing roadblocks and ensuring seamless execution across cross-functional teams to protect and grow Capital One's growing portfolio of brands. You will create and spearhead processes and strategies that support Brand management consistency across the enterprise, facilitating existing teams who seek to ensure compliance with brand standards and grow the brand's reputation. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of integrated marketing production and process across channels-mass media, social media, experiential, etc.-and experience managing processes that support consistency and reputation management for a recognizable, well-managed brand.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Directly lead one or more of Capital One's brand governance programs, including the facilitation of line-of-business marketing partner relationships

  • Be a visible enabler efficient, brand safe, consistent branded marketing across the enterprise

  • Facilitate team progress in a workflow management tool (Adobe Workfront), monitoring intakes and decision making processes across a multi-pronged brand governance review system

  • In a "hub and spoke" team environment, own hub processes to drive human connections across teams

  • Own insight reporting and executive dashboards on process utilization, throughput and operational outcomes across teams

  • Directly facilitate connectivity and shared innovation agendas across multiple subject matter experts

  • Drive a continuous improvement agenda, including identifying ways emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, can help streamline and accelerate brand risk reviews

  • Confidently lead presentations that drive awareness of brand management standards and programs with associates of all levels and backgrounds

  • Identify need for and develop clear written materials about brand management programs and standards when needed to advance the program

  • Update and maintain governance 'hub' artifacts, resource pages, educational documents, and computer based training modules and/or facilitate this type of work through spoke teams

  • Articulate new standards and procedures across channels, including but not limited to social media, paid media, talent management, content marketing, and experiential when a need is identified

  • Track and monitor compliance with governance requirements, including leading risk management control testing and audits of our processes

  • Contribute to a positive team environment as part of a high-energy, growing and evolving team

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 3 years of project management experience

  • At least 3 years of experience with marketing workflow tools (such as Adobe Workfront)

  • At least 2 years of experience in financial services or regulated industry

  • At least 1 year of experience identifying, evaluating and taking action to mitigate brand risk

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of project management experience

  • 1+ years managing projects for in-house creative, marketing, or agency teams

  • 1+ years experience with project management software

  • Experience evaluating or implementing GenAI automation integrations in marketing

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to self-manage and escalate potential roadblocks

  • Experience in resource and task management with the ability to explore solution-oriented approaches based on project-specific needs

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Sales Territory: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Associate, Brand


McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Associate, Brand


Richmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Associate, Brand


New York, NY: $131,800 - $150,500 for Principal Associate, Brand








Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
