Description:

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Quality Technician I to directly support our manufacturing practices through development, evaluation, and continual improvement of processes using quality concepts, principles and methodologies with the goal of consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations of quality.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Release product for shipping by ensuring proper documentation/certifications are provided as outlined by customer requirements
  • Understand and apply basic GD&T concepts
  • Proficient in dimensional verification of PPAP and first article parts
  • Provide direct support to the production floor by assisting with interpretation/development of manufacturing related documentation and providing or teaching proper measuring techniques
  • Provide technical inspection of manufactured and raw materials at “receiving” as outlined by the process
  • Collect data, evaluate, and present quality metrics
  • Program and operate FARO & Micro-Vu measurement equipment proficiently
  • Attend department meetings as required
Requirements:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years working preferably in a metal fabrication environment under a continuous improvement QMS with hands on inspection or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret graphs
  • Knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software and the use of the Internet
  • Certification as a Quality Technician preferred
  • Programming for FARO and Micro-Vu Measurement Equipment desired


EDUCATION

  • Associate degree in related field preferred

  • M-Th; 4:00pm - 2:30am


WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
