In this role you will get to design and deliver mission-critical biometric software solutions for a major federal customer, driving secure, scalable systems that support high-impact national security objectives. What You'll Be Doing: * Manage day-to-day implementation of programs and projects related to biometric software systems and military applications.
* Coordinate project plans, schedules, deliverables, and priorities with internal teams and leadership.
* Contribute to department goals, planning efforts, and broader functional strategy.
* Help lead planning and execution for large, cross-functional programs involving secure software and biometric collection systems.
* Interface regularly with senior management and executive leadership to provide status updates, risks, and recommendations.
* Support development, deployment, and sustainment of software in Android and Agile/DevOps/DevSecOps environments.
* Troubleshoot issues affecting biometric collection systems, including software, system performance, and operational problems.
* Investigate, analyze, and resolve software defects in biometrics-related applications.
* Coordinate and validate software patches, fixes, and enhancements for deployed systems.
* Oversee and support testing activities to ensure product quality before release to production.
* Review test plans, test execution results, defect trends, and release readiness.
* Ensure secure data handling and management for biometric data collection, storage, and transmission.
* Apply knowledge of information assurance, encryption, and security protocols to protect system integrity and sensitive data.
* Work with development, QA, cybersecurity, and operations teams to maintain compliance with security and operational requirements.
* Support secure product releases and production deployments, ensuring testing and security controls are completed.
* Monitor system performance and help resolve issues discovered in production or fielded environments.
* Serve as a technical and operational resource for managers, team members, and other stakeholders.
* Provide guidance on best practices related to software quality, security, troubleshooting, and release management.
* Help improve processes for defect management, patching, testing, secure deployment, and system support.
* Support troubleshooting, patches, enhancements, testing, and secure data management for biometric collection systems What Required Skills You'll Bring: * Active Secret clearance or higher
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
* 7 years of software engineering experience
* Strong experience in biometrics-related software, military applications, information assurance, encryption, and security protocols
* Experience with Android and Agile/DevOps/DevSecOps environments
* Strong understanding of information assurance, encryption, and security protocols
* Knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing processes, defect management, and release management
* Familiarity with secure software delivery and cybersecurity best practices
* Ability to oversee software quality and test activities prior to production release
* Knowledge of system troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and issue resolution What Desired Skills You'll Bring: * Prior experience with one or more of the following systems: BAT-A, NXGBCC, NRTIO
* Experience with AWS Cloud platforms
* Experience with Mobile Device Management tools and concepts
* Understanding of secure handling, transmission, and storage of biometric data
