The Team Youโ€™ll Join

You will join the MoneyGuide Development team, a collaborative group of software engineering professionals responsible for building and supporting innovative technology solutions that power one of the industry's leading financial planning platforms. Partnering closely with product, operations, and business stakeholders across Envestnet, the team develops scalable applications, delivers customized reporting solutions, and drives enhancements that improve both internal operations and client experiences. As the Senior Manager of Software Development Engineering, you will lead a team of developers, champion engineering best practices, and help shape the technical direction of key initiatives while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Howโ€ฏYouโ€™llโ€ฏContributeโ€ฏโ€ฏ 

Provides leadership and oversight to the Software Development Engineering group. Oversees team efforts to build scalable, secure platforms in support of Envestnet business operations, including wealth management, financial data aggregation and advisor-driven technology solutions. Works across cloud-based architectures, integrating complex data sources and APIs to deliver reliable, high-performance systems. Collaborates with product managers, data scientists and compliance stakeholders to meet both business and regulatory requirements.

  • Oversees delivery across multiple teams or a complex product area with interdependencies. 
  • Aligns priorities across teams, ensuring coordinated execution of shared goals and dependencies. 
  • Establishes and refines engineering processes (planning, CI/CD, release coordination) across teams. 
  • Evaluates and improves system-level quality attributes (reliability, scalability, performance). 
  • Leads resolution of cross-team production incidents and systemic issues. 
  • Manages resource allocation across teams, balancing competing priorities. 
  • Develops first-line managers and senior engineers into effective technical and people leaders. 
  • Partners with product and compliance stakeholders to ensure alignment on regulatory and business requirements. 
  • Identifies operational risks across team boundaries and implement mitigation plans.
  • Owns the development of a new internal software application used to support and manage the MoneyGuide application and business-related efforts
  • Establish and manage a small team of developers 
  • Work with groups across MoneyGuide and the greater Envestnet organization to identify, design and implement functionality.
  • Coordinate with clients to provide data extractions and customized reporting 
  • Build subject and domain matter expertise as developer insights about the product and its features are key to our success.  

Whatโ€ฏYouโ€™llโ€ฏNeed to Bringโ€ฏ 

  • Candidates should demonstrate the relevant experience, skills, and capabilities needed to successfully perform in the role. Relevant experience may be gained through current responsibilities, prior roles, project work, leadership opportunities, or other comparable experiences.
  • Expert level knowledge of coding in C# and design patterns
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment where personal interaction is as valued as process
  • Proficient ability in MS SQL Server

Nice-to-Havesโ€ฏ 

  • 8+ years of experience in .Net development
  • Experience in using any of the following: Jira and the Atlassian suite, TeamCity, Octopus, Kibana
  •  Working knowledge of AWS or another cloud-based environment

This role offers a base salary range ofโ€ฏ$167,500โ€ฏto $209,400. The range listedโ€ฏrepresentsโ€ฏa good-faith estimate of base salary compensation for this position and does not include incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Individual pay will beโ€ฏdeterminedโ€ฏbased on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location,โ€ฏin accordance withโ€ฏapplicable pay transparency laws.โ€ฏโ€ฏThis role is eligible for an additional incentiveโ€ฏcomponentโ€ฏas part of the total rewards package.โ€ฏโ€ฏ
