What You’ll Do as the Transportation Senior Project Manager

You will oversee and mentor multiple Project Managers across various offices while managing and tracking the department's backlog.

  • Manage client relationships, cultivating new business connections, and collaborating with the Business Development Team to identify IDOT PTB items to pursue.
  • Managing PMs current IDOT Phase I and II engineering projects as well as County and Municipal Transportation projects.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Monitor and manage the transportation department's backlog, ensuring accurate tracking, prioritization, and timely resolution to meet operational goals.


What you will need to thrive in this role:

Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Illinois or ability to obtain

Education: A Bachelors degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering is preferred)

Experience: 15+ years of experience working on IDOT roadway and bridge design projects, and managing/mentoring civil engineering staff

Location: Schaumburg, IL - Hybrid schedule

Software skills: Microsoft 365 and Adobe (AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred)

Adaptability: excel at adapting to changing project requirements.
