Position and Salary The Attorney General's Office is recruiting for a permanent full time IT Application Developer - Entry in the Information Services Division

This position is located in Tumwater, Washington, and is not union-represented. IT Application Development - Entry Salary range 04IT: $79,812 - $107,328 The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. About the Information Services Division The Information Services Division (ISD) provides strategic technology leadership, support and consulting for legal technologies and platforms. ISD leads the design, development, and delivery of all AGO technology systems and applications, including enterprise infrastructure, voice services and secure network environments.

The division also maintains the operations of software and cloud platforms (private and public) to provide AGO staff access to their confidential work product and communications, ensuring solutions are tailored to the AGO's unique legal and operational needs. ISD has multiple units that provide project management and business analysis service, electronic library services, custom software development, business intelligence, data management services, and eDiscovery litigation technical support. Through rigorous governance and cybersecurity controls.

ISD ensures compliance with state governance policies/standards and that all technology services function properly and securely. Duties and Essential Functions of an IT Application Development - Entry This position uses an agile development methodology, innovation, and creativity to complete assignments. The position provides analysis, development, QA implementation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for division specific and agency-wide, high risk/high impact, mission-critical custom developed applications, off-the-shelf software customizations, system integrations and databases.

The ideal candidate for this position will have demonstrable technical problem-solving skills, the interest and desire to understand complex business processes and the desire to learn and grow as a software developer. This position provides software development and maintenance for new projects and solutions, enhancements to existing custom software solutions, off the shelf software customizations and software integrations. Specific duties include: Provide software application development for performance metric tracking applications and approval workflows.

Integrate custom applications and data with other systems utilizing approved Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Perform customizations and integrations with off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions. Provide troubleshooting and bug fixes for custom developed solutions.

Develop dashboard/reporting platforms and associated Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. Perform testing and quality assurance for custom developed solutions. Required Qualifications Option 1: Six (6) years of professional experience such as analyzing, designing, and programming software applications OR a combination of education and/or relevant IT experience. Option 2: An Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, and at least four (4) years of experience such as analyzing, designing, programming software applications OR a combination of education and/or relevant IT experience. Option 3: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; and at least two (2) years of experience such as analyzing, designing, programming software applications OR a combination of education and/or relevant IT experience.

AND Additionally, provide proof of at least one year experience within the past four years, and demonstrate proficiency developing applications or other software solutions using the following programming skills, languages, software and programs: ASP.NET or MVC, C# JavaScript, HTML, CSS Microsoft.NET Framework Libraries (4.0 or above) SQL and Transact-SQL Microsoft Visual Studio or equivalent SQL Server Management Studio or equivalent Additional Desirable Skills & Abilities The most competitive candidates will possess the following desired qualifications: Experience within the past three years with the following programming skills, languages, software and/or programs: Agile software development methodologies Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) jQuery .NET Desktop Applications NHibernate, Entity Framework, or equivalent Telerik - Kendo User Interface (UI), OpenAccess ORM, RadGrid for ASP.NET AJAX Web Services - ASP.NET Web API, XML Web Services SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) Version Control Software (Team Foundation Server, git, or equivalent) About the Washington State Office of the Attorney General The Attorney General's Office (AGO) touches the lives of every resident in this state.
