Software Engineer - Developer (Associate and Experienced)

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer - Developer to join the P-8 Missions System Software Engineering team in Kent, WA.
Our teams is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Experienced Software Engineer - Developers.
The P-8 Poseidon program is the premier Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) platform for the US Navy and several international partners. Candidates will belong to an Agile software engineering development team that supports operating system, hardware, platform, and application development
Position Responsibilities:
  • Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, code, interfaces and designs for P8 Mission Systems Software
  • Supports development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products
  • Collaborates and contributes within an agile, cross-functional engineering team to support software development, troubleshoot issues, and complete root cause analysis for delivered products
  • Completes operating system cyber security investigations and static analysis code updates
  • Integrates Mission Systems software on lab and aircraft hardware along with debugging software and hardware systems

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance Post-Start is required
  • 2+ years' experience with software development on Windows or Linux
  • 2+ years' experience with Java or C++

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with specific scripting languages: XML, Pearl, Python
  • Knowledge of Agile software development processes
  • Knowledge of protocols: Networking, Serial, Device I/O, Wireless Communication
  • Experience Troubleshooting H/W and S/W issues in a complex environment
  • Experience using team collaboration tools including Git, JIRA, Confluence, Artifactory, etc.
