Job Description:

Starting wage is based on experience and shift. In addition to a base wage, every associate is eligible for quarterly profit sharing!! Various shifts are available and off shifts include additional shift differential pay.

The primary focus of a Moldmaker centers on maintenance, modification, and repair of wax injection molds for the investment casting process. The scope of activity ranges from troubleshooting quality/functionality concerns and executing effective corrective action(s) to collaboration with Manufacturing and Engineering on modifications resulting from customer requests or continual improvement efforts. As necessary to support Manufacturing, scope will expand to include secondary tooling such as jigs, fixtures, and gauges as well.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge of mold making techniques, materials, equipment, and processes.
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading, geometric tolerancing, CAD/CAM software, and technical drawings.
  • Skilled in the operation and programming of computer-controlled machinery, such as vertical machining centers, lathes, surface grinders, or EDM machines, in addition to their manual counterparts.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail(s) and continual improvement.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with afocus on quality.
  • Mastery of mathematical skills necessary for accurate calculations and measurement.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Effective listening, communication, and collaboration skills that support successful cross-functional team activity.
  • Functional knowledge of safety procedures and protocols related to equipment and processes utilized.

Physical Demands:

Associates are frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The position can involve sitting, walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds several times throughout the day. The job requires substantial movement, including walking, bending, lifting, grasping, and applying pressure to an object with fingers and palms.

Requirements:

You must be a minimum of 18 years old and be able to pass both a background and drug screen. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with completion of a formal apprenticeship program in moldmaking or toolmaking, along with proven experience in the field preferred.
