Job description

MDW Associates is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to work with our government client in Dayton, OH. The Financial Analyst will support the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSW(A&S)), which plays a critical role within the Department of War (DoW).

This role is on-site five days per week.

The Financial Analyst may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties:

  • Perform cost and pricing analysis support on Major Defense Programs or special focus programs in a sole source environment.
  • Research and analysis in the areas of contract cost, pricing, finance, as well as provide advice on those topics to leadership.
  • Gather and analyze data regarding the impact of contract financing on the war industry.
  • Provide pricing analysis in support of contract financing and other special studies.
  • Perform extensive quantitative analysis, including analysis of cash flow.
  • Prepare draft cost analyses and price reasonableness assessments.
  • Provide analysis and guidance to program offices to support successful negotiation outcomes, including use of actual historical costs, employment of streamlined approaches for analyzing proposal data, and analysis of the impact of finance and cash flow on the deal (such as financing by performance-based payments).
  • Support negotiation teams in navigating pricing issues associated with the appropriate use of the commercial preference.
  • Develop and provide tools and training on cost, pricing, and negotiation techniques.
  • Manage the Sole Source Peer Review program and pricing consulting engagements, tracking program plans, facilitating program interface, documenting results, and facilitating the sharing of best practices across the Department.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • At least 5 years demonstrated practical experience and at least 1 year of recent staff level (Component level or higher).
  • Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple concurrent tasks with urgent deadlines and interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Products must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.

  • Candidates for this position must have an Active Secret Security Clearance.
