Job description

Job Description: SAP BW/HANA Consultant

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP BW/HANA Consultant to design, develop, and optimize SAP Business Warehouse solutions on the HANA platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP BW/4HANA architecture, data modeling, and real-time analytics. This role is critical in enabling high-performance reporting and data-driven decision-making across the enterprise.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in SAP BW and SAP HANA development
  • Strong experience with SAP BW SAP S/4HANA and native SAP HANA modeling (Calculation Views, CDS Views)
  • Proficiency in BEx tools, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and Analysis for Office
  • Experience with data extraction from SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and external systems
  • Knowledge of ABAP for enhancements and debugging
  • SAP certification in BW/4HANA or SAP HANA preferred
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Design and implement data models using SAP BW/4HANA and native HANA modeling techniques
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes using SAP BW tools and HANA views
  • Integrate data from SAP and non-SAP sources into the BW/HANA environment
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and deliver scalable reporting solutions
  • Create queries using BEx Query Designer and integrate with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or other BI tools
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot data load or reporting issues
  • Support SAP S/4HANA embedded analytics and CDS views
  • Document technical specifications, data flows, and best practices
  • Design and develop data models using Advanced DSOs, Composite Providers, Open ODS Views, and InfoProviders in SAP HANA Studio
  • Manage LSA++ architecture and expose BW objects as HANA views for hybrid scenarios
  • Handle data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from SAP and non-SAP sources using SLT, BODS, SDI, and SDA, including troubleshooting with relevant tools
  • Configure schemas and manage data provisioning across distributed environments
  • Develop reports using SAP BusinessObjects tools like Web Intelligence (WEBI), Lumira, and Analysis for Office
  • Integrate BW queries with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and other BI front-end tools
  • Support self-service data exploration and operational analytics
  • Lead BW/4HANA migrations and upgrades from legacy BW systems and SAP S/4HANA integration
  • Participate in pre- and post-migration testing and validation
  • Prepare migration plans and conduct deep-level system testing
  • Create analytic privileges and configure dynamic authorizations
  • Document access control and write SQL statements to manage schema-level permissions
  • Work closely with business users to translate requirements into functional specifications
  • Work with security teams to safeguard sensitive data (e.g., HCM, FI)
  • Collaborate with government clients to ensure compliance with public sector standards and audit mandates
  • Provide end-user training and maintain system documentation
