Commercial Sales Representative

Reporting to the Commercial Sales Manager, the Commercial Sales Representative is responsible for building new customer accounts for Superior Plus Propane. Working within a defined Territory and/or Line-of-Business, the Commercial Sales Representative will market and sell Superior Propane products and services to new customers to successfully achieve predefined sales goals and objectives. The territory for this role is Southern Maine (Arundel and Kennebunk).

What you'll do:

  • Collaborate with the Commercial Sales Manager to develop, recommend and execute a sales plan that leverages national and regional programs and resources to consistently meet monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
  • Prospect, research and identify new business opportunities and work the sales plan to create awareness, discover customer needs and deliver product and service solutions.
  • Initiate and lead the sales cycle/process as a subject matter expert and act as the customer's key contact and resource. Build strong business relationships with prospective customers and manage the sales funnel/cycle by continually following up on their current business needs and anticipating future business needs.
  • Prepare and confidently present sales proposals, including pricing and product/service terms, to key decision makers. Influence, negotiate and close the sale with the best interest of the company and the customer in mind.
  • Collaborate with and engage the Regional Leadership Team to ensure the needs of the customer can be and will be met.
  • Communicate regularly and prepare reports on key performance indicators and communication on sales progress within the sales funnel/cycle and achievements. Intimately know customer base and area activity and utilize information and data to capitalize on sales opportunities and recommend sales strategies.
  • Resolve any issues as they arise and involves subject matter experts and key decision makers as needed to remove obstacles.
  • Own the account from prospecting through to ongoing account management.
  • Promote and represent Superior Plus Propane positively and professionally within the community and industry to all customers, competitors and industry associates.

What you bring:

  • Prospecting driven approach
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of sales experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of propane industry is an asset (or prior experience as a technician is a bonus)
  • Strong focus on new business development
  • Exceptional customer service skills and relationship management skills
  • Business acumen, financial and analytical skills
  • Computer skills (Windows, MS Office, Salesforce an asset)
  • Knowledge of propane or oil & gas industry is an asset
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to travel for 2-3 nights per month

Pay Transparency:

The expected annual base salary range for this role is $50,000 - $60,000 a year. This position is also eligible for a monthly commission plan with a bridge build-up period.
