Principal Associate, eData Risk Guide - Enterprise Services Risk

The Enterprise Services Risk organization is expanding with a focus on attracting innovative, pioneering, collaborative, and highly skilled professionals. We operate at the forefront of risk management, providing support for novel and developing technologies, as well as critical business strategies. As an eData Risk Guide in Capital One's Enterprise Services (ES) Risk organization, you will apply your risk management and analytical skills to support the Enterprise Data organization. As a Principle Associate in the Enterprise Services Risk Office, we are the first line of defense to help ensure our Company remains well-managed and avoid unnecessary risk. In this position, you will play a key role in enhancing our risk management processes and data risk profile across Capital One and driving project and program delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the risk management strategy and deliver on enterprise and team objectives.

  • Partner with the business partners to deliver on the identification and development of risks, issues, and/or mitigation plans to ensure the business implements needed changes and addresses areas of exposure.

  • Develop and help to deliver senior level risk management reporting and communications

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and leaders across multiple organizations to achieve strategic objectives

  • Coordinate program-related activities and deliverables to ensure effective collaboration within the team and across stakeholder groups

  • Continuously look for ways to improve and innovate in our approach to risk management.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with Enterprise Services process owners, process managers, and vertical risk advisors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification

  • At least 3 years of experience in Risk Management, Process Management, Project Management, or a combination of these

  • At least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering, and interacting with internal and external business clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in risk management or data management

  • At least 5 years of experience in project, program, or portfolio management

  • At least 1 year of Financial Services industry experience

  • At least 3 years of experience consulting with senior executives and strategy building

  • Risk Certifications (CRISC, CISM, CRCM, CIPP, ABA Risk Mgmt Certification)

  • Experience in controls development, controls management, risk reporting activities such as process level assessments and risk and control self assessments

  • Strong organization skills and ability to support multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills to confidently interact with and lead meetings at all levels

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills to effectively respond to shifting priorities, demands and timelines

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $119,400 - $136,200 for Prin Assoc, Cyber Risk & Analysis


McLean, VA: $131,300 - $149,800 for Prin Assoc, Cyber Risk & Analysis


New York, NY: $143,200 - $163,500 for Prin Assoc, Cyber Risk & Analysis


Plano, TX: $119,400 - $136,200 for Prin Assoc, Cyber Risk & Analysis


Richmond, VA: $119,400 - $136,200 for Prin Assoc, Cyber Risk & Analysis







Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
