Requisition Summary
This position is located at PACCAR's global headquarters in downtown Bellevue, Washington, and provides an exciting opportunity to support the strategic direction of PACCAR by developing and applying analytical models that identify and quantify risk in PACCAR's global portfolio of financial products.
As a Data Analyst within the Portfolio Risk and Analysis Group, you will provide analytically sound risk models that inform credit decisions by PACCAR's finance organizations in Europe, North America, Latin America, and Australia, as well as senior management and company executives. You will utilize your education and work experience to drive new projects and improvements to existing processes. Company executives and analytic partners will rely on you for timely, trustworthy, and relevant business insights gained through best practices in data science and advanced analytic techniques.
Success in this role will hinge on your curiosity, ability to work well in ambiguity, a passion for learning, and adept communication skills.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
    • Manage and document the full lifecycle of analytic projects from problem statement through solution performance monitoring.
    • Employ appropriate AI/ML algorithms in creation and deployment of models that support initiatives for risk analysis and automated credit decisioning.
    • Leverage emerging technologies to continuously increase the value of PACCAR's data assets
      • Expand and enhance the department's BI capabilities by developing automated deployment pipelines, and data processing applications using on-premise and cloud-based tools.
      • Maintain strong working relationships with IT departments and regional credit offices to facilitate adoption of digital transformation initiatives.
      • Confidently present improvement ideas and technical solutions, that enhance business impact and reduce programmatic risk, to senior managers and executives.
    • Develop and implement process improvements leveraging AI to enhance data analysis and modeling capabilities, increasing the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of our work.
    • Support organizational objectives as an integral member of an effective cross-functional credit and risk analytics team

    Skills / Competencies
    Required Experience/Skills/Competencies:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Analytics, Statistics or related field
    • 5+ years of applicable job experience.
    • Demonstrated experience leading data projects from inception to deployment. Including building relationship with stakeholders and targeting strategic outcomes.
    • Must be a highly motivated self-directed learner with a creative mind, insatiable curiosity, and meticulous attention to detail.
    • Strong statistical foundation combined with proficiency in machine learning algorithms including logistic regression, chi-squared testing, ROC curves, ensemble methods, and automated machine learning platforms to drive data-driven insights and model performance optimization.
    • Advanced proficiency with SQL and Snowflake querying and use of relational database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
    • Proficiency in data-centric programming languages such as Python or R.
    • Experience deploying models to production and supporting model monitoring.
    • Experience with machine learning models (e.g., gradient boosting, random forests, XGBoost/LightGBM).
    • Experience with the AWS suite, specifically Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, and Apache Airflow.
    • Excellent general business acumen, with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex topics.
    • Hands-on data modeling experience and proficiency with data visualizations.

    Preferred Experience/Skills/Competencies:
    • MBA or Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
    • Professional certifications such as PMP, FRM, or related industry certifications from AWS, Google Analytics, etc.
    • Experience with large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or autonomous agent frameworks to develop and deploy machine learning models and AI agents that automate data analysis workflows and drive actionable insights from complex datasets.
    • Experience with version control (Git) and collaborative analytics workflows.
    • Strong understanding of commercial financial principles.
