The Director of Risk & Corporate Insurance leads Capital Group's global insurance and risk financing strategy to protect the firm's balance sheet, operations, and fiduciary outcomes. Accountable for identifying, quantifying, and mitigating enterprise risk exposures through effective risk transfer, governance, and integration of insurance into the broader risk management framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set strategic direction for the global insurance and risk financing program, including limits, retention strategy, and market approach.

  • Lead underwriting strategy, policy placement, and renewal negotiations to optimize terms, pricing, and long-term positioning.

  • Evaluate enterprise risk exposures using loss data and analytics to inform risk transfer and mitigation decisions.

  • Integrate risk and insurance considerations into business activities, including contracts, vendor relationships, and corporate initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory insurance requirements and evolving market standards.

  • Oversee claims and litigation in partnership with Legal, ensuring effective recovery and continuous improvement of risk practices.

  • Deliver clear, decision-oriented risk reporting and insights to senior leadership, boards, and committees.

  • Drive continuous improvement of risk frameworks, tools, and processes to enhance transparency and scalability.

  • Provides leadership to the Global Risk & Insurance function, including day to day delivery and building and developing the team.

  • Engages with senior executives, business leaders, and governance bodies to provide independent, data-driven risk perspectives.

  • Leads complex, cross-functional risk initiatives spanning multiple jurisdictions and regulatory environments.

  • Advances innovative approaches to risk financing, analytics, and program design to enhance resilience and efficiency.

Knowledge & Experience

Southern California Base Salary Range: $208,245-$354,017

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
