Associate Recruiter- University Events Lead- Travel Up to 35% of the time

Associate Recruiter- University Events Lead

The University Relations & Events team is seeking an Event Lead responsible for managing university partnerships and executing on-campus and virtual event strategies across assigned school portfolios and job families. This individual will build strong relationships with business partners and recruiting teams to adapt our event strategy into a meaningful candidate experience that attracts top talent for internship and early career programs. The Event Lead will comfortably navigate ambiguity, own dedicated school portfolios, and test innovative approaches to engage diverse candidate pools.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, execute, and own on-campus and virtual event strategies for a dedicated portfolio of partner schools to engage students and guide them through the recruiting funnel.

  • Travel up to 30-35% during peak campus recruiting seasons (specifically September-November and March-April), typically spending 2 to 3 days per week on the road for up to 14 weeks per year.

  • Provide an exceptional candidate and associate/client experience across all hosted events while protecting company brand, reputation, and risk mitigation.

  • Develop and deliver training materials to prepare executives, business partners, and associates traveling to campus representations.

  • Manage allocated school budgets, oversee logistics, and maintain precise candidate tracking data.

  • Utilize strong project management skills to set timelines, manage cross-functional deadlines, and drive cross-functional alignment between Students & Grads and lines of business.

  • Build, manage, and nurture collaborative relationships across key stakeholder groups internally and externally.

  • Measure and track event success, analyze return on investment (ROI), and present key findings to high-level stakeholders and business partners.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

  • Ability and willingness to travel 30-35% during peak campus recruiting seasons

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 1+ year of experience in event planning or project management

  • 1+ year of experience in campus recruiting or sourcing

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $81,700 - $93,300 for Recruiter


Richmond, VA: $74,200 - $84,700 for Recruiter










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
