Job description

Our Quality Department has an opening for a Quality Associate that works Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM. This position supports the continuous flow of quality test cell activities by testing and inspecting products to ensure that PEI-Genesis quality standards and customer-specific requirements are met. The role ensures accurate testing, proper component verification, and thorough completion of quality documentation in accordance with the Quality Management System. Responsibilities may also include reviewing and dispositioning nonconforming material while maintaining compliance with all procedures and ongoing training requirements.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (Needed/desired for this Position)
  • No previous connector or manufacturing experience required.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate with peers, superiors.
  • Product/Process knowledge.
  • Ability to fluctuate schedule as deemed necessary by management or as the work load requires.
  • Strong work ethics including, but not limited to, attendance and punctuality.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

TECHNICAL and/or MANAGERIAL JOB COMPETENCIES - (Specific Job Proficiencies and Skills)
  • Ability to understand simple drawings, CAPIs and work instructions(as needed)
  • Basic PC experience
  • Math skills are a plus.
  • Working with various inspection equipment: calipers, drop indicators, force gages, DWV-IR tester, etc.
  • Ability for personnel performing acceptance testing of product to meet Near and Color Vision Requirements

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)
  • Continuous flow of the quality test cell activities.
  • Ensure the quality standards are met per PEI-Genesis requirements.
  • Ensure that customer requirements have been met through validation and testing of the product specific requirements, as well as confirmation of correct and adequate components.
  • Awareness and basic understanding of BOM and Pick Suggestion "special" customer requirements.
  • Complete all quality department documentation and work instructions per the Quality Management System requirements.
  • May be responsible for the review and disposition of identified non-conforming material; based on use of defined workmanship standards, guidelines and direction provided from the Manufacturers, or direction provided by members of Management (based on training level).
  • Ensure that all administrative procedures/work instructions are followed completely.
  • Ensure that your quality department training is up to date. Recognize the need and request additional and/or continuous training as necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Manual lifting up to 35 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 70 lbs. on occasion (with assistance).
  • Repetitive detailed work with hands for 8+ hours of the day.
  • Ability to sit or stand for up to 8+ hours.
  • Be able to reach overhead with or without the aid of a ladder or step stool.
  • Ability to Grip/Grasp at least 8 hours of the day.
