Primary Functions (What)
  • Establish New and Optimized Molding Processes
  • Identify and Eliminate Variability
What Success Looks Like (How)
The Process Engineer's (PE) role is to establish and document the molding process for the Coach to have the information necessary to duplicate the molding process during production. The PE will establish new and optimized molding processes to ensure the successful launch of new programs.
The PE is also tasked with providing the necessary support throughout the manufacturing facility based on need and customer requirements. The Process Engineer is responsible to increase profitability by solving molding problems, ensuring equipment is performing properly, and making improvements in all aspects of the molding and production processes: identifying AND eliminating variability.
If the Process Engineer determines the Coach is not following the established molding process or procedures, the PE will stop and mentor the Coach to reduce the risk of re-occurrence.
Desired Qualifications
Process Engineering degree preferred, Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent to injection molding preferred.
Process Engineering Associates degree with 5+ years of practical experience in a technical or process engineering role or 10+ years of practical experience working in a process and or technical role within a plastics manufacturing facility
Leadership Style: Self-starter, able to work with little direction and high level of self-motivation.
Well organized project management skills, program management background a plus.
Tooling knowledge a plus
Proficiency in and the ability to model and implement the following concepts: empowerment and teamwork; standardized work; problem solving; quality improvement tools; reduction in lead time, set-up time, and scrap
Systematic trouble shooting experience
Provide the appropriate mentoring and coaching to all levels of the manufacturing environment as it relates to Plastics Process, Tooling, Quality and Leadership
Physical Demands
Various physical activities involved in product production processing and/or working with equipment. Typically a hands-on job, with much of time on production floor. Involves standing and walking most of day.

None
Work Environment
Approximately 10 percent office and 90 percent production floor.
