Job description

Overview

Bowhead seeks an IT Project Manager to join our team supporting the program office for NSWC Corona โ€“ Corona Division in Norco, California. The Project Manager will work directly with the Program Manager and the client analyzing complex and unique physical plant and technical support assignments within a scaled agile environment.

This position is 100% onsite.

Corona Division is the Navyโ€™s premier independent assessment agent responsible for gauging the warfighting capability of Navy ships and aircraft by assessing weapons and integrated combat systemsโ€™ performance, readiness, quality, and supportability. The project manager will support the technical infrastructure supporting Corona Division operations in the areas of IT operations.

Responsibilities

โ€ข Provide general project management support for all existing and new IT projects across the division
โ€ข Provide IT management advisory support to the Program Manager in support and execution of Corona Division IT requirements
โ€ข Develop project scope of work, plans, estimate and schedule
โ€ข Work with section leads to optimize local IT/network operations and support services, as well as telecommunications support services
โ€ข Work with Corona Division leadership to standardize and optimize the design and architecture of the IT and infrastructure
โ€ข Coordinate and oversee projects related to physical network infrastructure, including the installation of all cable types (i.e. Coax, fiber optic, etc.)
โ€ข Monitor and report on service desk operations, to include performance metrics and identifying areas of improvement
โ€ข Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
โ€ข Demonstrate exceptional writing and oral communication skills and ensure premier quality products and services are delivered
โ€ข Maintain, organize and update all program documentation as required
โ€ข Provide formal status reports to Navy and Bowhead leadership as needed
โ€ข Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

โ€ข Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, information technology, computer science or related technical field of study and two to three (2-3) years of experience managing IT projects, reporting status of projects and the development of data analytics, OR
โ€ข High school degree, or a GED, and seven(7) years of experience managing IT projects, reporting status of projects and the development of data analytics
โ€ข Proven ability to work on high visible or mission critical aspects of a given program and perform all functional duties independently
โ€ข Strong foundation in project management principles who is eager to grow their skills in a dynamic environment.
โ€ข Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
โ€ข Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government personnel, and other stakeholders
โ€ข Strong team player, interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead a team and work with company leadership
โ€ข Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Certification Required
โ€ข Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Desired Qualifications:
โ€ข Experience working with DoW or other government environment
โ€ข Familiarity with ServiceNow or other IT Service Management System
โ€ข Experience with Cisco and Windows/Linux Networks
โ€ข Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is highly desired
โ€ข Relevant technical or management certifications a plus

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the minimum Secret level.

Physical Demands:
โ€ข Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
โ€ข Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
โ€ข Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
