Job Summary
The Mass General Brigham Development Office represents a team of 450+ vibrant, collaborative, and skilled fundraising professionals, including the Cooley Dickinson Development Team which supports advancing care at Cooley Dickinson Hospital and Cooley Dickinson VNA & Hospice in Northampton, MA. The Development Associate is an operations role on the Cooley Dickinson Development Team within the Mass General Brigham Development Office. With guidance and training, the Associate administers the post-award grants process, performs essential database functions including generating contact lists and managing constituent records in the CRM, and oversees email and community fundraising platforms. Also, the Associate handles several important administrative functions, including processing mail, depositing donations, managing the daily and weekly donor acknowledgements, and serving as a public point of contact for the office. The Development Associate position is a fully in-person role and requires working on-site at the designated office location five days per week.
Essential Functions:
1. Partner with the Grants & Stewardship Officer to administer the post-award grants process
2. Generate mailing and email lists from the donor database
3. Process mail and manage daily donation deposits
4. Coordinate and review daily and weekly donor acknowledgements
5. Manage the email communications platform, including creating emails based on information provided by program managers, scheduling emails, and maintaining the integrity of donor data between the platform and the donor database
6. Oversee the platform used by community members fundraising for Cooley Dickinson
7. Assist in the processing of charitable gifts and pledges, providing thorough backup information and documentation in a timely manner
8. Assist with daily administrative activities, including attending to constituent phone and email inquiries as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Strong verbal and written communication skills
2. Organizational, time management, problem solving, and project management skills
3. Command of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook, or the ability to learn them quickly
4. Competency using videoconferencing platforms (Zoom and Teams preferred)
5. Proficiency with data entry or data management in a database (Blackbaud CRM or Raiser's Edge preferred)
6. Attention to detail, creativity, and strong work ethic
7. Desire and motivation to learn about the organization and fundraising
8. Awareness of personal work styles in self and others
