Job description

Senior Roadway Design Project Manager

DKS Associates is growing! In November 2024, we proudly welcomed Six Mile Engineering, a respected Boise-area firm, into DKS, a 100% employee-owned company. With this acquisition, we’ve combined Six Mile’s local expertise in roadway design with the full breadth of DKS’s national strengths in transportation planning, engineering, and technology. We are now seeking an experienced senior roadway design project manager to join our growing firm. This position will manage the design of various transportation engineering projects that may involve geometric design, roadway and intersection design, and preparation of PS amp;E. You will also have the opportunity to mentor team members in their development as they grow in their career.
What will you be doing?
  • Managing roadway design projects of varying complexity including scope, schedule, budget, earned value analysis, staffing allocation, and accounts receivable
  • Overseeing and reviewing the preparation of final design plans, specifications, and estimates (PS amp;E) for geometric design, roadway and intersection design, and preparation of PS amp;E.
  • Attending client and project design team meetings to provide project updates, resolve design issues, and coordinate design elements with other disciplines
  • Building relationships with clients
  • Mentoring junior staff in their professional growth and enhancing their skills
  • Pursuing additional professional growth opportunities in project management, business development, technical expertise, etc.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, or similar field
  • 10+ years of experience in roadway design
  • Experience with Idaho Transportation Department projects is preferred
  • Project management or task lead experience required
  • PE license required
  • Basic understanding of the AutoCAD or MicroStation software packages
  • Working knowledge of industry practices and regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Sr. Project Manager: $153,615 - $176,085 per year (posted job)
Sr. Project Manager II: $178,640 - $203,720 per year
