Job Description:

Professional with knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management. Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight. Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.


Essential Functions:

  • Oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
  • Serves as single point-of-contact between engineering project management and planning, engineering project team, and line management.
  • Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses engineering project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring engineering project progress and for intervention and problem solving with engineering project managers, line managers, and customers.
  • Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
  • May conduct performance/project analyses during phase-down to benefit future/other engineering projects, missions, and programs.
  • Includes engineers supporting and embedded within Global Trade Compliance projects and programs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Must be a US citizen.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Active DoD security clearance.
  • Experience in Systems Integration, Networking, Radio Frequency (RF).
