ย About the Roleย 

Otto Aerospaceย is seekingan Associateย Manufacturingย Engineer to support theย fuselageย cockpitย assemblyย Flight Test Vehicle (FTV) buildsof the Phantom 3500. Theย Associateย Manufacturingย Engineer will alsoย help the teamย prepare forlow-rateinitialproduction (LRIP) and full rate production (FRP) at theFinal Assembly Integration andย Test (FAIT)ย Facility,in Jacksonville, Florida.ย 

Theย Associateย Manufacturing Engineer role will contribute to the successful completion of major projects that support strategic priorities and technicalobjectivesfor the Phantom 3500ย fuselageย cockpitย assembly. Workingย underย general direction, the individualpossessesย basicย knowledge in manufacturingย engineeringand assemblytechnical areasย andcanlearn to developย imaginativeย manufacturingprocessesor tooling designs. The individualwillsupportManufacturing Engineering technical POCsย on projects,programsand/or cross functional teams.ย 

ย What You'll Doย 

  • Completeย 3DX training and learn how to createย an MBOM, BOP, and create work instructionsย 
  • Complete composite bonder training and fabricate composite parts to support manufacturing trialsย 
  • Assistย in developing and executing plans for manufacturingย trialsย 
  • Learn and execute design for manufacturability (DFM), producibility analysis, and manufacturing trade studies todeterminecost effective solutions to complex manufacturing technicalobjectivesusing a variety of data and analysis techniquesย 
  • Identify,reportand resolve potential safety and quality hazards/risksย 
  • Work through a disciplinedapproach ininitiating, planning, executing,controllingand closing tasks and projects to achieve specific goalsaligned to program/IPTsuccess criteriaย 
  • Work and deliverablesarereviewed and checked through team leadershipandfunctional management to adequately meetobjectivesย

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineeringor Engineering Technologiesย 

Experienceย 

  • 0-2yearsin aerospace or related manufacturing industry experienceย ย 
  • Proficiencyin MS Office tools of Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Teams,Visioand Outlookย 
  • Some experience withย 3D modeling-CATIA3DX orV5/V6, andDelmiapreferredย 
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, test plans, and technical proceduresย 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude- preferably with high level knowledge or understanding of composite manufacturing and assembly processesย
