Job Description:

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an Associate Engineer to Associate Engineer II Office Technical and Environmental Services (TES) Group at the BWI Marshall Airport Field. Responsibilities include providing technical level engineering, planning and analyses related to stormwater management, spill prevention, UST and AST compliance, assessment of monitoring data, preparation of basic engineering calculations, development and review of construction documents and materials and reports for technical adequacy and completeness, and development of written technical reports and correspondence.
This field office is a designated 24/7 emergency essential facility. Therefore, the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions will be required.

Estimated Pay Range:

Associate Engineer: $66,861.04 - $91,933.74

Associate Engineer II : $73,547.00 - $101,127.12

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Geotechnical, Electrical or other generally recognized field of engineering from an accredited college or university. Additional requirements include:

Associate Engineer: 2 years of relevant engineering experience

Associate Engineer II: 4 years of relevant engineering experience

Note: Master's degree in engineering or other relevant field may be substituted for two years of required experience

Must be able to obtain both UST and AST Inspector certifications within 18 months of hire date. Must possess the ability to both effectively communicate with and interact with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, vendors and the public, both orally as well as in writing. Must possess the ability to research and comprehend federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations pertaining to environmental programs, material and construction specifications and building codes.

Must have knowledge of engineering principles and practices and must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Applicants must have the ability to obtain a Homeland Security Clearance and must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points.
