Academic Scholar โ€“ Critical Care, Clinical Assistant Professor/Associate Professor, Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine

Position Title: Academic Scholar โ€“ Critical Care, Clinical Assistant Professor/Associate Professor, Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the Department of Pediatrics, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo (UB) and Golisano Childrenโ€™s Hospital (GCH).

Overview

We are seeking a Pediatric Intensivist with advanced training and experience in Cardiac Critical Care to join our interdisciplinary team. The faculty member will contribute to patient care, education, research, and program development within the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine division.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care to critically ill children, with a focus on cardiac critical care, including ECMO, CRRT, and plasmapheresis.
  • Support education and training of advanced practice providers (APPs) and junior faculty in cardiac critical care.
  • Teach PICU fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students.
  • Participate in educational conferences, curriculum development, and simulation activities.
  • Provide mentorship to junior faculty and fellows.
  • Contribute to scholarly and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgical teams on patient care and program expansion.
  • Supervise PICU fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students in clinical rotations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Boardโ€‘certified in Pediatrics and Boardโ€‘certified/boardโ€‘eligible in Pediatric Critical Care (BC/BE).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Significant experience in Cardiac Intensive Care and/or completion of a Cardiac Intensive Care Fellowship or Cardiology Fellowship.
