Job description

JOB INFORMATION

• Job Title: Engineer Staff (or) Engineer Associate

• Grade: Exempt 56 (or) Exempt 54

• Job Code: 125852 (or) 125855

JOB SUMMARY

** This job is being posted across two skill levels (Associate / Level I) and (Staff / Level II). Applicants will only be considered for the higher of the two levels in which they qualify. **
This job works under moderate supervision while gaining further experience in reliability engineering practices. Executes reliability engineering tasks across all elements of the program.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

• General responsibilities with standardized processes. Works under limited supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems. Refers the more complex issues to higher levels. Follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job. Some latitude for deviation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Participate in project design phase reviews.
  • Conduct asset criticality evaluations, maintenance strategy development, and spare parts analysis for small to medium sized asset addition and replacement projects and existing assets, with oversight.
  • Perform asset reliability assessments, with oversight.
  • Support and occasionally lead root cause failure analysis efforts, with oversight.
  • Maintain reliability documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams on asset reliability issues, as directed.
  • Manage small to medium sized reliability projects of low to medium complexity, with oversight.
REQUIREMENTS

ASSOCIATE
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or PE

PREFERRED 

  • Internship or up to 2 years of directly related experience.
  • Exposure to reliability engineering concepts through coursework or internships.
  • Interest in maintenance, reliability, and asset management.

STAFF
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or PE, And 2 years related engineering experience (which may include non-Engineer experience such as Engineering Internship, Design, Drafting, and Engineering Tech experience. This type of experience will be counted at half rate.)

PREFERRED 

  • 2–5 years of experience in plant maintenance and reliability.
  • Exposure to reliability engineering concepts through work experience.
  • Interest in maintenance, reliability, and asset management.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • May require travel.
  • May involve field work and non-standard schedules.
SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

• Member will not be required to drive in order to perform their job duties.

• The operation of equipment, machinery or power tools;

• The operation, maintenance or oversight of critical services and infrastructure including but not limited to, electric utilities, power generation or distribution;

  • Developing in the application of reliability engineering principles (Asset Criticality, Maintenance Strategy Development, Spare Parts Identification and Stocking Recommendations, Root Cause Failure Analysis).
  • Developing skill in extracting, navigating, and interpreting data using SAP, AVEVA PI, and EtaPRO.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and Power BI for data analysis.
  • Competent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Competent in interpreting technical documents, drawings, schematics, and layouts.
  • Competent in creating technical emails, memos, and reports.
