About the Role

The Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Engineering Team's daily activities. This role ensures safe, high-quality manufacturing output that meets schedule and cost targets while developing people, enforcing standards, and driving continuous improvement consistent with Amphenol's operational goals.

 

What You'll Do

  • Support engineers in the design, development, testing, and validation of products, components, and processes
  • Build, assemble, modify, and troubleshoot prototypes, fixtures, test setups, and sample parts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production and test equipment.
  • Manage and maintain the 3D print farm, including printer setup, print job monitoring, basic maintenance, material handling, and part post-processing as needed.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or process-related issues and recommend solutions
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and updates for engineers and cross-functional teams
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, SS, Kaizen) to improve productivity, reduce waste, and increase OEE.
  • Support onboarding, training, and competency assessments for the production team.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and enforce EH&S policies, including lockout/tagout, PPE use, and incident reporting.

 

 

 

 

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in manufacturing/engineering preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience
  • Experience in electronic assembly, cable/connector manufacturing, or precision manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems (ERP/MRP), shop-floor data collection, and basic Microsoft Office.
  • U.S. Citizen or permanent resident to satisfy AFSI I TAR requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving skills: structured problem solving (5 Whys, PDCA).
  • Proficient in CAD modeling (Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc)
  • Familiarity with interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical instructions.
  • Proficient in 3D printing and slicing softwares
  • Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001 , AS9100) and root cause corrective action (RCCA).
